My Work

Our firm primarily provides general counsel services to smaller companies who cannot afford to maintain their own general counsel or legal departments. I personally provide those services for ten companies located throughout the Rio Grande Valley and some in Mexico. I assist my clients in taking care of problems so that they can focus on growing their business. I also take court appointments representing both juveniles and adult misdemeanor defendants.

The Value of My Degree

The rigorous course load and wide-ranging variety of EPPS, and more specifically pre-law, classes were instrumental in making law school a much easier experience for me, as I had already encountered and learned about many areas of law even before I started. This gave me a huge advantage over those students who had graduated with a different degree.

My EPPS Success

Frankly, it was the professors who contributed most to my EPPS success. The school of EPPS has some of the most approachable and friendly professors I have ever met. They genuinely care about their students and want to see them succeed. In my case, one particular professor even took it upon himself to teach me constitutional law, for credit, on a one-on-one basis over the course of an entire summer. This alone allowed me to become one of the most knowledgeable con-law students at law school, even if my actual grade didn’t quite reflect it.

Advice for EPPS Students

Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero. This doesn’t mean live for today. This means take advantage of the day to prepare, for tomorrow is uncertain. Study not just for the knowledge itself, but to teach yourself how to learn. Only in this way, can you insure for yourself a brighter tomorrow.
