Deciding on Political Economy

I had separate interests in research and politics and political science is the perfect intersection of those.

My EPPS Success

The key to my success has been making sure to maintain a balance in my life. Everyone at this school is very focused and driven but being able to know when to stop studying and enjoy myself has helped me maintain my physical and mental health while still allowing me to achieve my academic goals.

Plans for the Future

I hope to one day go to law school but I’m also considering pursing a Masters in Economics or Social Data Sciences at UTD. I’ve been speaking with professors and my academic advisor about what the best path for me will be and it’s really helped me narrow down my goals for the future.

Advice to Prospective EPPS Students

Make sure to be involved on campus! There are so many people at this school from a wide variety of backgrounds – you’re sure to learn something new from them. Remember that your professors and advisors are incredibly intelligent and that they are amazing sources of advice and insight. Be active in class, reach out to others and do your best to get to know the people around you. There’s no end to what you’ll be able to learn.
