With the support of the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences, UT Dallas has become a founding sponsor of the first-ever Secure Dallas Cybersecurity Conference, taking place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center.
Secure Dallas is organized by DigitalEra Group and marks the newest expansion of their flagship conference series. Building on nearly a decade of success with Secure Miami, DigitalEra is bringing its trusted conference model to North Texas for the first time. The full-day event will feature keynote speakers, expert panels, and networking opportunities designed to unite cybersecurity leaders, innovators, and practitioners.
For EPPS, the partnership highlights the school’s growing role in advancing cybersecurity education and policy. EPPS houses the Master of Science in Cyber Security, Technology, and Policy, a program designed to prepare students from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to address the increasing frequency and severity of cyber threats. Students in the program study a mix of computer science, information systems, cognitive psychology, and public policy, with courses covering topics such as privacy, ethics, regulation, and data security.
UT Dallas is proud to help bring a nationally recognized cybersecurity conference to the region. As part of Secure Dallas, UTD will also host a panel featuring Chief Information Officer Nate Howe, Dean Jennifer Holmes, Dr. Dann Arce, Ashbel Smith Professor of Economics, Dr. Pengfei Zhang, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity, and Dr. Marcelo Leal, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity.

Limited registration for EPPS students will open in the coming days. This exclusive opportunity is first-come, first-served, and will provide students with a chance to learn from cybersecurity experts, network with industry leaders, and gain valuable insights into the latest trends and challenges in the field.
