How did you decide on your major?

I was interested with economics for the first time my senior year of high school. That was the first time I ever got to interact with this subject. It intrigued me to learn about the importance of economics in all aspects of the world. It was quite fascinating to me. Furthermore, I knew coming into college that I was going to law school after this. I felt that economics was a well suited degree as a background to law school.

My EPPS Success

I would attribute the key to my success in EPPS to a few things. Firstly, my academic advisor who has helped me many a times in deciding my major or my path in the future. Additionally, the pre-law advising center as well as my mock trial coach. I appreciate their guidance. And finally some professors who have always helped e immensely and decided to stay in touch with me even after the semester concluded.

Plans for the Future

I plan to go to law school right after my undergraduate education. While I am not yet sure what kind of law I wish to practice in the future I do know that I want to be a lawyer.

Advice to Prospective EPPS Students

Talk to your academic advisors. Whether you need help picking the right major, finding your future path after graduation, what classes you should take, or anything else. They are there to help and they want to help (at least I think so). Though in all seriousness, this is an excellent resource, so use it! On a similar note, go to office hours and get to know your professors. Basically make sure your professor knows you. It is so essential to play an active part in your academics and ONLY attending class is not enough. More often than not professors want you to come to their office hours and they would love to answer all your questions. Finally, join organizations and clubs. Join the ones that interest you. They are a great way to meet people on campus, gain leadership opportunities, and earn valuable experience that you may not otherwise. Oh, and most importantly have fun! You only get to be a college student once in your life.
