Major: BS in Geospatial Information Sciences, Fast-Track
Expected Graduation Date: Fall 2025
EPPS has introduced me to a number of faculty members who have helped me to achieve my goals in my academics as well as future career paths. I’ve been able to participate in research of different types, and have had access to many resources that have helped me to gain a better understanding of the field of GIS. EPPS is a school where students can find mentorship in any field, and through doing so, I have built confidence in my own abilities over the years.
I’m a Fast-Track student, so I will be continuing to pursue a master’s degree in GIS starting in the Spring of 2026. After gaining experience through internships and other opportunities, I hope to find a full-time position in the GIS industry, specifically looking through an environmental lens.
Find a professor that you really click with and make an effort to get to know them outside of class as well! Getting to speak with Dr. Cummings, Dr. Rahman, and Dr. Chun has given me insight and perspective when it comes to GIS, and I have been able to take part in different experiences thanks to the relationships I have built with them. Professors are people too, and it’s always nice to feel connected to faculty members that have been in the industry that we are hoping to step forward in one day.
