Initiative for Civic Leadership

Founded in 2024, the UT Dallas Initiative for Civic Leadership empowers tomorrow’s civic leaders today. Housed in the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences, the Initiative provides talented graduate and undergraduate students from across UT Dallas with the opportunity to learn and intern with local government and community organizations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Our Mission: The UT Dallas Initiative for Civic Leadership empowers students to engage with their local community through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on internships. By immersing students in the governmental processes of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, we seek to instill an ethic of civic engagement and prepare students to understand and overcome the challenges within their communities.
