Inflation, traffic are among top concerns for North Texans, early survey results show – NTX Quality of Life

The Dallas Morning News recently covered the NTX Quality of Life Initiative, held on June 28th at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center. The event featured an early look at the results from the William C. Short Annual Quality of Life Survey, which gathered responses from residents of Denton, Collin, Tarrant, and Dallas Counties—key areas within the Dallas-Fort Worth region.

According to the survey’s first phase, inflation, traffic, and homelessness are the top concerns for DFW residents. This aligns with the insights of Dr. Tim Bray, director of the institute, who noted, “…we have the highest daily amount of in-migration in the entire country.” Dr. Curtis Bram, assistant professor and institute member, further elaborated on the survey results, highlighting the negative perceptions surrounding homelessness and how that reflects support for affordable housing.

Dr. Bray and his team anticipate an increased number of survey respondents and a more comprehensive analysis in the future. They hope the data will serve as a valuable resource for organizations and nonprofits aiming to enhance their communities.
