Strong Minds, Global Impact
The School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences (EPPS) at The University of Texas at Dallas is a national leader in the social science disciplines with an emerging focus in tech policy. Powerful collaborations emerge from the school’s presence within a Carnegie Tier One, STEM-focused research university. EPPS is a national leader in research addressing critical social, political and economic issues while creating innovative policy solutions.
Success at EPPS is driven by prioritizing interdisciplinary, data driven and policy-relevant research. Our faculty lead research and centers in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the DFW Federal Statistical Research Data Center, the Institute of Urban Policy Research, the Texas Schools Project, UT Dallas Education Research Center and the DFW Quality of Life Project, while providing students with experiential learning and public and community service through policy labs and participation in applied projects. EPPS students gain expertise in data analytics while taking advantage of our culture of instructional excellence.
UT Dallas is ranked No. 1 Best Value Public University in Texas by Forbes (2019). EPPS’ programs of study are all nationally ranked. Our growing program in public and nonprofit management was ranked as No. 1 in North Texas, No. 3 in Texas and No. 56 in the nation for public affairs by U.S. News and World Report (2021). The program was also ranked No. 32 in the nation for nonprofit management — tied with Harvard University — and the criminology program was ranked No. 1 in North Texas, No. 2 in Texas and No. 26 in the nation. These top educational programs are backed by significant financial support for EPPS students, who received over $2.75 million in scholarships and fellowships last year.
The School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences is growing with expanded research, talented faculty and students, and high impact on the community and public policy. The New Dimensions campaign will further propel EPPS into the future through access and support, talent and impact as the school continues to develop Strong Minds who have a Global Impact.
“Our social and policy sciences drive discussions about challenges facing our society and economy and how to craft policy responses to these issues. The New Dimensions campaign will support EPPS students and faculty through scholarships, research funds and more powerful community impact. Your support will help us attract, train and retain the best talent, who in return will serve as a driver for the DFW region’s flourishing.”
