The 9th annual PNM conference “Innovation in Public and Nonprofit Management” brought together over 100 participants that included community leaders, entrepreneurs, alumni, students, and faculty of the Public and Nonprofit Management Program to network and discuss innovation in government and nonprofit sectors. The conference featured a plenary on technological and social innovation as well as sessions on cyber security and courageous leadership in times of change.
At the Awards Ceremony, the Public and Nonprofit Management Program recognized Serenity Rose King as the Alumni of the Year. Serenity holds her PhD in Public Affairs from the PNM Program and has been building a culture of innovation at UT Dallas for more than a decade. In early 2025, Serenity started a new position as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Texas System.
The PNM program also recognized its outstanding students of the year and their academic, research, and service accomplishments.
The Public and Nonprofit Management Program is ranked as #1 in North Texas and as #3 in Texas by the World and News Report. It offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in Public Affairs as well as undergraduate and graduate certificates for all UTD students interested in public service. Annual conferences are a unique venue for participants to connect with the community, learn new skills, and explore engaging networking opportunities. The PNM Program looks forward to hosting its 10th Annual Conference on campus next year. Stay tuned!
