The University of Texas at Dallas ROTC cadets, led by Major Brian Stevenson, Assistant Professor of Military Science, contributed to a memorable Veterans Day program hosted by American Airlines by presenting the colors, a gesture symbolizing respect and honoring the sacrifices of military personnel. The event celebrated resilience, leadership, and unity while highlighting the contributions of veterans and active service members.
The keynote address was delivered by retired U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Gretchen Evans, whose distinguished career spans over 27 years. Evans, one of the first female command sergeant majors in the Army, shared powerful insights into overcoming adversity and fostering resilience. Her experiences inspired the audience with a message of perseverance and the critical importance of teamwork.
Following the keynote, Evans was joined by American Airlines Chief Operating Officer and Army veteran David Seymour for an engaging fireside chat. The discussion explored strategies for building cohesive, high-performing teams, emphasizing the strength of working together as “One Team.”
The event, attended by nearly 800 American Airlines team members, provided a meaningful opportunity to honor veterans while promoting values of unity and leadership.
