We aim to build an academic hub for Taiwan studies with a dedication to advance research and policy analysis in critical areas including high technology, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
Through rigorous scholarship, language training and student exchange programs, we aim to explore Taiwan’s dynamic role in the world and provide a welcoming platform for academic and cultural exchange.

Dr. Charles Ku
Chair of Taiwan Studies Initiative Advisory Board
Read Biography
Dr. Charles Ku is the Honorary President of the Greater Dallas Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a retired dentist since 2023. Over the years, Dr. Ku was recognized by his peers as a leader in his field. He was appointed by then-Gov. Bill Clements to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and served as chair in 1990. He was appointed by then-Gov. George W. Bush to the Texas Statewide Health Coordinating Council, and was appointed by then-President George H.W. Bush to the Federal Commission on Apprenticeship. Dr. Ku also served on the Baylor Oral Health Foundation Board. He currently serves on the Baylor University Medical Center Board of Trustees and Dallas Baptist University Board of Trustees.

Dr. George Huang
Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Bridge Tower
Read Biography
Dr. George Huang is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Bridge Tower, where he leads capital formation, investor relations, and the firm’s overall strategic direction. Under his leadership, Bridge Tower has grown into a vertically integrated real estate investment and development platform focused on build-to-rent (BTR) communities across Texas and the Southeast. Dr. Huang’s background spans finance, healthcare, and real estate. He began his career as a Senior Analyst at Sabretooth Capital, a New York-based Tiger Cub hedge fund managing over $1 billion, and later served as SVP of Business Development for a publicly traded biotechnology company, where he evaluated acquisitions and helped guide the firm through a successful public offering.
He holds a PhD in biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University, where he conducted research in the lab of a Nobel Laureate.

Dr. Eugenia Henry

Dr. Eugenia Henry is a seasoned statistician with more than 35 years of experience spanning
hands-on clinical research and senior leadership roles across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and
contract research organizations. She is recognized for her expertise in protocol design, statistical
methodology, regulatory strategy, and successful NDA submissions.
Dr. Henry has extensive experience in both technical and executive capacities within leading
global pharmaceutical and biotech companies. She currently serves as a statistical consultant to
numerous clients, advising on study design, statistical strategies, and regulatory communications
with the FDA. She also serves on multiple Data Monitoring Committees.
She is actively involved in developing statistical sections of protocols, analysis plans, and
regulatory submissions. To date, Dr. Henry has contributed to 79 NDA, PMA, sNDA, and ANDA
submissions, with 77 approvals granted by the FDA and other international regulatory agencies
As an entrepreneur, Dr. Henry has founded three companies: HHI Clinical Research and
Statistical Services (1998), H2O Clinical, LLC (2011), and ADE Consulting, LLC (2020). Prior
to establishing her companies, she held senior leadership positions including Head of Data
Management and Statistics at Guilford Pharmaceuticals, Head of Data Sciences in Medical
Affairs at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and Head of Biometrics for Phase I and Experimental
Medicine at Pfizer Central Research in Groton, Connecticut.

Ting Kuo Daniel Chen (UTD alum 1988) is the Founder & Managing Partner of TKC International Advisors, LTD., where he specializes in guiding high-net-worth individuals and families in building, preserving, and transferring wealth across generations. With deep expertise in wealth management, private equity, and cross-border estate planning, T.K. has become a trusted advisor for clients with complex global financial needs.
For more than two decades, T.K. has helped entrepreneurs, second-generation family wealth holders, and international investors design customized strategies that integrate investment diversification, U.S. private equity opportunities, and international tax and estate planning solutions. His unique approach bridges financial growth with legacy preservation, ensuring families can protect their wealth while achieving long-term goals. T.K. Chen worked for J. P. Morgan Investment for 15 years before he founded TKC International Advisors, LTD.
