Undergraduate and graduate political science degrees prepare students for careers in business, government, nonprofits, elected office, research and teaching. Students develop a strong understanding of how and why people choose to participate in politics and the nature of public opinion through multidisciplinary coursework that could include conflict, political psychology, constitutional law and international trade.

Many of our students have received valuable experience through opportunities including Archer Center fellowships and have been accepted to top law schools with guidance from the Pre-Law Advising and Resource Center. Our faculty includes distinguished leaders in their field who have served as editors of major academic journals and who have received numerous teaching honors. Faculty members’ diverse interests include conflict, international relations, political institutions, public opinion research, quantitative methods and U.S.-Mexico relations.
